Stock Market Day Trading Robot Software / Get Started

Get Started

A brief walk-thru on using the My Trading Robot stock trading system

Here is a brief summary of how to register and get started:

STEP 1.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN AOL IM (AIM) USER NAME SETUP FIRST

The robot sends out all its signals live over AOL instant messenger (AIM) which is a live chat client. It's 100% free to get one, and you absolutely do not have to have an AOL account, or even an AOL email address. Everyone is able to use it for free, and a simple download is required to install this. Go here to get one if you don't have an AIM user name. This AIM user name will be your login user name for the robot. Make sure when you register you use this AIM username.

STEP 2.

REGISTER WITH THE SITE

Your AIM user name will be the user name for the registration on the site. If you do not put in your AIM user name, or don't have one, STOP - you will not be able to use the robot in any way. This user name will be sent to the robot's approved list. If it is invalid, you will not be able to see anything. In addition you need to give the site a valid email address. A confirmation email will be sent to this address, so make sure its valid.

STEP 3.

CLICK THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL

After you submit your name, AIM user name, and a valid email address, a confirmation email will be sent out to that address. This is fully automated, so if you do not receive one, CHECK YOUR SPAM BOX.

It will usually always arrive within a minute or two of registration. You must click the confirmation link in the email to confirm your account. If you don't verify your account through this process, your user name will not be added to the robot's approved list. If for some reason you used a valid email address and you don't get a confirm email or have other issues, send an email to mytradingrobot@gmail.com with 'registration issue' in the subject line.

Again I repeat if you don't get an email and are sure you have provided a valid email address, CHECK YOUR SPAM BOX as this is the nature of 95% of any issues that have ever come up in the hundreds of users who are online who had an issue with registration.

STEP 4.

ADD MyTradingRobot TO BUDDY LIST

As soon as you confirm your email and have registered, open AOL instant messenger. Add MyTradingRobot to your buddy list. Since the robot is a chat bot, it cannot add itself to anyone's buddy list. It also cannot initiate a conversation to begin with. In order to use the robot, you must manually do this.

Once that is done, open a chat window to the robot. In the chat window, type the word 'register' and hit return (no quotes). This only has to be done 1 time to tell the robot you are ready for it to send you stuff. If you do not do this step, nothing will be sent out and you will see nothing. If for some reason the robot says "You are not registered with My Trading Robot" and you have confirmed your email after registration, please email mytradingrobot@gmail.com with your registered AIM name and I will try to assist you. Please realize I am not available 24 hours a day, so while the internet is open, sometimes I have to sleep .... I am around always during market hours and will attempt to resolve the problem and get your account running.

The robot should say you are now registered to see buy and sell signals from the robot. If your account is not setup OR you did not reply to the confirmation email OR there is a problem of some kind, you will receive back a message stating you are not registered with the site.

Again, if this happens, and you believe everything should be setup fine, please email mytradingrobot@gmail.com and ask for assistance. Usually I will get back to you in a short amount of time. There is no need to register again, most of the time I can resolve the issue for you very easily.

Once you are registered with the robot, even if you sign out of AIM, your user name will remain as registered with the system. There is no need to type 'register' every time you sign on. In addition, if you wish at any time to turn off the signals, simply type 'unregister' and they will stop. Unregister does not erase saved stock lists BUT if you do not save your currently loaded list (meaning you made a watch list but have never saved it, that will be lost. Make sure you save your watch lists. When you get back online with mytradingrobot, its simple to load it back again.

Users can register and unregister with the robot at will and as much as they like, it does not affect anything. If you only want to see long (buying signals), then use the command 'register buys'. If you only want to see short sell signals, then use the command 'register sells'. You can change this as much as you wish, the robot will remember your preferences when you log back in.

STEP 6.

MAKE A TRADING LIST

By default when you register, you will have a small trading list of about 5 names only. If you do not add names to your list, you will only see signals on these names. Go to the Stats page on the main site to see the full list of stocks.

Here you will see the full list of names the robot is trading. Currently it is about 160 names. First type in 'remove all' and this will clear your list.

Once this is done, type in 'add AAPL AMZN GRMN IBM' etc - as many as you like (again, no quotes). Make sure each name is separated with a space (not commas). If you try to add names the robot does not follow, the robot will ignore them. It will add the names it follows, then upon adding it will warn you that some names were not added to the list.

**** TIP

If you wish to see all signals, type in 'add all' and hit enter. This will add all symbols to your list. This is the simplest solution when just getting started and you don't have a fixed stock list yet.

****TIP

To see what names you have in your list, type the word 'symbols' and the robot will tell you what names are on the list. Once you have the list, save it. Simply type in 'save mylist' , where mylist can be any name you choose. Now your list will be saved. You can make as many lists as you want and save as many as you want.

Once you have a list, you can load it by typing in 'load mylist' and hitting enter. One thing to remember is you can load multiple lists and they will add those names all to your watch list, they do not overwrite. So if mylist has "AAPL RIMM IBM" and mylist1 has "DE CAT AGU" and you type in 'load mylist' then 'load mylist1', your active list will be "AAPL RIMM IBM DE CAT AGU"

To see your saved lists, type in 'lists' and hit enter.

To load a new list and get rid of existing names, first type in 'remove all' then type in 'load mylist' or whatever name you have saved.

To remove names from your list individually (not saved list, currenly loaded list), use the remove command. Type in 'remove GRMN' and GRMN will be removed from the list. If you wish to remove all names (so you can load or make a new list for example), type in 'remove all'. This also works for adding names. If you wish to see all signals for all stocks, type in 'add all'.

STEP 7.

Now you are ready to go!

Once the above is done, the robot trading system will start showing you the stock signals it is trading live and in real time for the each of the symbols you have on your list. Each trade sent out has a profit target, stop loss, and trigger price attached. The robot will not track any trade unless it actually breaks the trigger price by at least .01. Once this happens, the robot's trade is considered 'live' and it will track it until the signal is lost or it is stopped out.

Each trade that is entered by the robot will have a trailing stop that follows it up. If this is tripped, the trade is exited and the resulting profit or loss is broadcast out.

The current stop in use can be found at any point by using the 'stop' command. If the robot is short IBM and you want to know the current stop, simply type in 'stop IBM' and hit enter.

The current position in any name can be found by using the position command. If you want to know the current position (if any) in IBM, type in 'position IBM' and the robot will report back entry price and side, if there is any current position.

If you want to query how any particular stock has been doing profit wise based on real time trading, there are 2 commands:

'stats IBM' will give the historical, closed out statistics (wins/losses) for IBM as well as the net max points gained (max gain for every trade - max loss for every trade) - this is the edge.

'profits IBM' will pull up the closed out profit or loss for that symbol as traded by the robot. This is different than stats, as stats uses max runup and max drawdown - this simply is locked in profits and losses based on real time trading and posts as they occur.

Once you are registered with the robot, you can also type in 'commands' for a full list of commands that are valid.
